Trying Mackerel

As promised last week, I gave mackerel a try!

I was wondering why l had never tried it before, and realized that it was only a few years ago that I discovered where to look for it.— in the canned fish section at the grocery store.

I opted for one that was in tomato sauce, chopping it up to use as an open face sandwich:

I loved it! It was very flavorful (somewhat similar to tuna.) But the best part? The whole can was 2.5 oz of fish and has 4000mg of omega 3 fats!  Wow!!  Those are phenomenal stats!  I will definitely keep some handy for quick lunch options when I have no leftovers to bring to work.

If you are looking to increase your omega 3 consumption I would encourage you to try it.
