Brittaney’s Story

Hi, I’m Brittaney and I am the newest addition to the Revive Wellness team. From as far back as I can remember, I have been interested in food and cooking. I was very fortunate to grow up with a mom who is also interested in cooking. Watching her prepare delicious and wholesome food for our family is where my interest and passion began.

After high school, I got my first kitchen job. There I learned the basics, developed some cooking skills and grew my enthusiasm for food and cooking. I wanted to further my cooking education, so I attended SAIT and completed the Culinary Arts program. From there I worked in many kitchens around Calgary. My knowledge and passion deepened due to the mentorship of several excellent chefs in Calgary.

During my culinary career, I noticed a few of my friends developing and discovering intolerances to certain foods. This intrigued me, and furthered my interest in the science behind food and how it can affect our bodies. This interest led me up north to beautiful Edmonton, where I attended the University of Alberta. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition and food science with a minor in food marketing.

Throughout my time at the U of A, I learned a lot about how food affects every part of our bodies – more than just our health, but our moods, and social lives. Everyone has to eat, and what we choose to put into our bodies can greatly impact our everyday lives.

I started to try and apply this knowledge to my cooking by combining the culinary lessons and recipes I’ve learned in the past and give them a new, and healthy twist. I was attempting to create dishes that were big on flavour and health. I learned that we can substitute healthy choices for unhealthy choices and try to create a similar flavour profile.

Which brings us to today! I feel so lucky to have been hired by a company that allows me to play around with recipes and create delicious and healthy meals! At Revive Wellness I can show people how simple it is to cook tasty and wholesome food. I am so grateful to get to do what I love every day and have the opportunity to further my knowledge of nutrition and food.

Client Testimonial

“Brittany is an outstanding chef with a fantastic personality. I am a mere novice as it relates to cooking and Brittany was able to remove all barriers to the intimidating task of navigating the Kitchen. In one session we prepared ten dishes ranging from the stove to the barbecue, I learned invaluable tips, and all the food was delicious. I highly recommend a session with Brittany regardless of the level of your cooking abilities.” – Chris Comeau
