1. Discovery Session (15-minutes)

A discovery session is a free service provided by our dietitians. It is the first step in your journey and is a chance for us to get to know you, understand your needs, and determine if we are a good fit for each other. It is also an opportunity for you to learn about our process, pricing and service options, and what to expect when working with us. If you have questions regarding our process or approach to nutrition services, this is the time to ask!

If you determine that we are a good fit for you, your dietitian can assist with booking further appointments to get your journey started.

2. Initial Nutrition Assessment (45-minutes)

The initial nutrition assessment is required at the beginning of your journey with Revive. This session is an essential part of our process and helps us provide you with the right services.  During this session, you can expect us to:

• Identify your goals and priorities 

• Discuss your current diet, lifestyle, and physical activity 

• Talk about your stress and energy levels as well as sleep quality 

• Review your health and medical history, lab work, medications, and supplements 

• Determine the package and approach that best fits your needs 

• Discuss the next steps and plans for follow up sessions 

3. Body Composition Analysis*

* Currently only being offered at our Edmonton location

Assessing body composition is key to tracking progression and change over time in lean mass versus body fat. The first body composition analysis is done shortly after the initial nutrition assessment to collect baseline information. Additional body composition analyses are completed at various times depending on your package; traditionally, we complete a test at the mid-way point and at the end. 

Although you will notice that only some our packages have body composition analyses included, if this is something you are interested in, these tests can be added to a package or purchased on its own. 

If you have never completed a body composition analysis with us before and are not booking sessions with any of our registered dietitians, we recommend you book the Body Composition with Review! This way, our team can review and explain how to interpret the results.

4. My Viva Plan - Our Digital Program

If we feel My Viva Plan is the right fit for you, we will set you up with My Viva Plan after you complete your initial nutrition assessment. My Viva Plan offers support in three main areas: mind, nutrition, and fitness. We will show you how to use this program to suit your needs. Specifically with nutrition, My Viva Plan provides a personalized meal plan framework with two levels of customization, grocery lists, chef-curated recipes, and Vivapedia (our own nutrition encyclopedia). My Viva Plan uses behaviour change tools to help provide additional support in between your sessions with your dietitian and also provides a 6 week fitness plan, workout, yoga, and meditations, and quarterly stress assessments.

4. Follow Up Sessions (25 - 50 Minutes)

After your initial nutrition assessment, you will continue your journey with follow-up sessions. The number of follow-up sessions needed is determined based on your needs, health goals, and case complexity. These sessions are typically booked weekly in the beginning of your journey to provide you with more support as you practice introducing different strategies and working on your goals. As your confidence builds, your follow-ups are spaced out more, allowing for both accountability and sustainable change to become the focus. The aim is to not change everything all at once. Rather, the follow up sessions will be used to set goals in 1-2 areas at a time.

 In the follow-ups you can expect us to:  

• Review your progress  

• Discuss both the successes and challenges  

• Set new goals and discussions around strategies pertaining to your health goals

Practice Better is Revive’s secure system for scheduling sessions, hosting video sessions, form submissions, document sharing, record storage, chat messaging, and more.

My Viva Plan is the application we use to build your programming. It contains your nutrition plan, fitness plan, progress tracking, lifestyle assessments, and more.

Please be aware that My Viva Plan is not integrated with Practice Better. As such, you must make separate login credentials for each platform.
